coches tocandose.jpgLast weekend at the AMSA club facilities in Barcelona, the 2nd Spanish 1/10 electric touring championship race was held. Most of the habitual drivers of this championship were present.
In the TOP team we had the presence of our newest team members, Raúl Sancho and Luis Conde.
All of the TOP drivers played a key role in all the finals held. Jose Felix Medina, Joan Dellá, Orio Roig and Luis Conde, drivers that participated in the C Final, were sorting out thier tuning-up problems that had affected them during the qualifiers.

Luis Conde excelled in this final without any problems.

In the B final , the fight for first place also ended up in favor of a TOP driver; Raúl Sancho.
Raúl, as with Luis Conde, had many  tune-up problems throughout the qualifying races. Without a doubt, the problems occured came about for the most part, due to the fact that both drivers raced their new cars  for the first time in this race.

The great work carried out in the boxes between qualifying legs and finals allowed them to continue to make gradual progress, finishing up with some very competitive cars. It´s progress, from lesser to greater, was evident. What would have happened if the drivers had participated in the races with the tune-ups used in the final and what great results could they have achieved?

The only TOP driver to participate in the A Final was Jose JAvier Cruella who also had a very outstanding performance in the finals. He finished in 9th position and narrowly missed third place putting serious pressure on the drivers that battled for the first three spots on the podium.

Halfway through each final, the explosive wearing away of the rear tires caused Javier to loose a few tenths of a second on each lap; something which prevented him from maintaining these positions that he won simply as a result of his driving skills and consistency.

The performance of Toni Mateo, current Spanish Champion,  must also be highlighted. He didn´t give a single chance to the others other and dominated the race from beginning to end.

Many congradulations to you all!

Good environment, great races, high level, and a good performance by the official TOP Drivers, in this second Championship race in Spain, 2008.
