This material is light and at the same time resistant, with the light weight of these rims being the main characteristic (the 4 rims have a cummulative weight of only 4grams). The weight is about half or even less than that of the conventional Kyosho aluminium rims. One may think that being they are made of plastic that they would probably break just like the stock mini.z ones, but this is not the case thank to the Delrin. Another issue worth mentioning are the inertias. Given the light weight, these inertias are less notable, thus producing a car that is more agile and faster on bends. Perhaps the only thing that is worth criticizing is the appearance, due to the fact we are accustomed to the pretty designs provided by Kyosho. The ATOMIC rims a very basic and come in black or white. One thing that is clear is that the price difference between the two is quite significant. The lenticular rims only cost around 4€ a pair. Take out your calculator and compare the prices; the quality price ratio is unbeatable!! As you are well aware, I like to give special attention to the aesthetics of the mini-z but I´m going to use these rims for racing because the weight is a more and more important issue. The decision to use light weight rims or not can mean a difference of several decimals per lap and given the high level of racing today in our country, this, my friends, is an important issue!! The offset issue is something that you also need to bear in mind. The ATOMIC rims give us a wide range of all of them, from the 1 front and rear (the offset -1 rear, allows us to use wide rims on the mini-z which up until now were only able to use narrow rear rims.) up to the 3. The offset go hand in hand or in other words go from 1 to 2 to 3....and in somehow facilitates the configuration whether it be 0,5 0,05.....etc. Could you imagine all the rims and confusion there could be when it comes to figuring out which offset to use? Now you know. You can try them all but you´ll realize that the chronometer doesn´t lie!! |
