A marvellous weekend with wonderful people doing what we all enjoy........INREDIBLE!!

What can I say about the weekend in Almada...........an incredible track, luxury facilities and perfect organization with some important technical novelties.
The Almada club facilities have a reverse carpet. The grip at first was a satisfactory but the local drivers had great control over the set up. Everyone used number 10 TRP diamond rear tires and #25 radial diamond front tires and with this set up the cars performed quite well.
The organisation was spectacular and for the first time in the mini-z world, the race was rebroadcast live via internet so that everyone could see the progress of the race. The race was also recorded integrally on video to avoid problems with complaints, protests about timekeeping etc.
Carlos was spot-on in the organisation and control of the Lap-z program with the invaluable help of Luis.
The event organisation, lead by Carlos Figueiredo, had so many prizes that it was real problem trying to assign each and everyone of them. The organisation had recieved a countless amount of state-of-the-art cell phones, beginners scuba diving courses, items and spare parts for mini-z cars, women´s perfume and many more treats that really stunned the participants........
Never before during all my time organising events like this, had I ever seen such a thing.
The finals took place with total formality and complied, minute by minute, with the preestablished schedules. The battle in the finals was strictly controlled by a race director that didn´t allow for any mishap to occur even though the behaviour of all of the drivers was absolutely impeccable.
In the A Final, Alberto demostrated his great dominance of the surface and took Hugo´s car to the limit, acheiving a great advantage over his opponents. Rui Almeida showed us how an Enzo can go fast ( something that is quite difficult) and finished in second place right from the first minutes of the race and at point did he struggle to change his place. This wasn´t the case with the third place which was a constant battle between Oscar Viola and Victor Vital who alternated the places for 10 long minutes even though some minor collisions or slip ups at the end of the race established the third place position two laps before the end of the race.
From this end we congradulate the organization, the participating drivers and of course, the winners of the race........We´ll......see....you in ....Spain?
Best regards,
Alex Rubio
