The race was held on March 26th in the town of Chaves.
Considering it was the first race held in Portugal, many drivers from different regions of Portugal, as with the different Spanish provinces, wanted to be present at the event.
The people of Chaves greatly supported the event which was held at the fair premisies provided by the town hall. The circuit, with a long straight and a slower section which forced the drivers to follow the contours carefully, was constructed on a fair-type carpet surface. 
The location of the circuit and the characteristics of the the track delighted the crowd which throughout the Friday and Saturday training sessions, attended the qualifying round.  

Lap Z timing system was used for the race and more concretely the personal transponders were set up. The unfamiliarity of many of drivers regarding the correct placement of these apparatus on their cars as well as the continuous failures  of these devices as a result of the new model of transponder, caused numerous set backs and  delays in the qualifying legs.

 Two drivers were outstanding in the qualifiers: Carlos Conceiçao of Portugal and Enric Centellas of Spain. Both drivers dominated in the final

 All of the finals were heavily challenged which is a habitual occurence in the races of this championship. On this occaision the motor used was the well known Speedy model manufactured by Pn Racing.

As was expected, the A Final caused high expectations. The close attention of all those present was focused on the impeccable duel which featured Enric Centelles who ended up winning and Carlos Conceiçao who throughout the race showed his top level driving and spectacular driving style.
