KoPropo presents the new EX-1 KIY Concept transmitter

Written by Tarik Smith in 19 January 2012

The Japanese KoPropo, specialized in the production of top-of-the-line instruments for radio controlled vehicles, has recently presented the new EX-1 KIY Concept transmitter.

As you can see in these first images of the product, the EX-1 is clearly inspired by the assault weapons used by military troops. The similarities with tactical weapons is not only limited to the exterior design but also, as you can see, there are also metal supports that provide a counterweight in addition to the typical grip and trigger, thus improving their stability.

Furthermore, a new feature of these components is that they can be configured in numerous ways. KoPro introduces the concept of the "customizable" device. All of these personalized options are made possible by way of the fitting (of distinct modules and sizes) on the central body of the transmitter.

With the name itself, "KIY Concept", kopropo defines this new transmitter as EX-1(Kustomize It Yourself.). For those of you already familiar with this brand, you be aware that Kopropo products are characterised by their high ergonomic level. With the new EX-1 Kopropo offers us a whole new twist of things by bringing out a transmitter that can be configured using new fittings.

We assemble the transmitters to suit your needs.

For the first time in the world of KoPropo, left handed aficionados will be able to use a transmitters by this manufacturer fully adapted to their laterality.

On the same token , those "old school" drivers that prefer to use transmitters with a control stick, can now combine the use of a throttle and brake trigger with the control stick. All of this is made possible through the ingenious fitting and connection of these distinct modules to the central body of the transmitter without having to fasten a single screw.

As with previous models, thicker and more ergonomic hand grips, plus an extension module (3D) for adjusting the steering wheel angle, will also be featured on this KoPropo transmitter.

The dimensions of the liquid cristal screen will remain the same as always, however, in this edition it is also mobile, in that the angle can be altered as desired in order to provide correct visibility. Furthermore, if you consider the fact that the EX-1KIY concept uses AAA type batteries (4 units to be exact), all of this means that the transmitter remains one of the most lightweight in the market.

KoPropo will be placing the EX-1 transmitter in the hands of radio control car enthusiasts after the month of March 2012. This new product emits 2.4GHz and, specifically, utilises the FHSS (Frequency Hopping) system that KoPropo launched on the market in August of last year.

For the moment, we haven´t received any news statng that this system is launched via the mini-z ASF system. Nevertheless, please stay tuned for more info on the latest novelties that we will be bringing to you with respect to the EX-1 KIY Concept, plus all the possibilities that come with it.
